Fred Pape Watson Sales Associate When I left Arizona State University with a BS degree, I began a career as a representative to the nation's railroads working for several suppliers including General Motors EMD and GE Transportation Systems. My responsibilities carried me all over the United States and allowed me to work with all the major railroads and eventually the CSX in Jacksonville. Consolidation and downsizing led to the end of an otherwise wonderful and productive career. I first joined Watson Realty as a Sales Associate in 2005 at the Ponte Vedra office. It was an eye opening experience into the complexities of the various skills needed to complete a successful transaction from start to finish for my customers. With the help of my Watson training and fellow sales associates, I was soon able to develop a skill set for both listing and sales in Ponte Vedra and the Southside areas. Ocean front living and condominiums became my specialty. There are a number of considerations peculiar to living next to the ocean but once mastered make for a once in a lifetime experience. My wife and I bought an oceanfront condo ourselves and lived there for several years. As my experience with Watson progressed, I was first awarded rookie of the month and by the end of 2006 achieved the Million Dollar Club for the year. I received President's Award and at the end of 2007 completed my first $1,000,000 sale. At one New Year's Eve banquet dinner I had either listed or sold property to everyone at the table! When we moved from the beach, I changed offices to the Watson office on Hodges Blvd strictly on the basis of location. The recession and all that was involved was changing the nature of the business but I could see there was still opportunity out there. Due partly to my enthusiasm for international travel, I joined the NEFAR Global Business Council and had good success with their efforts to promote NE Florida as a desirable relocation destination. I transitioned to Watson Referral Realty but an accident and physical recuperation played havoc with my lifestyle and really limited my ability to function at full speed. Fast forward to today. With all that behind me, I realized that I sorely missed the person to person contact that allowed me to perform as a fully functional sales associate, to provide the knowledge and expertise needed by my customers in either buying or selling their homes. There was nothing to do but re-introduce myself back to where it all started at the Watson office in Ponte Vedra. I'm really glad to be back!
